Does monthly plan start over with new phone?

I have the Samsung Intercept and want to throw it against the wall about 4 times a day since it freezes up on me all the time. I'm thinking of going down to Radio Shack after work today to pick up the LG Optimus V. My monthly plan w/ VM goes through the 20th of each month. If I get the phone and upgrade via the VM website, do I start a new month of service, or will my current month extend over to my new phone?

No you will just transfer phone the due date will stay the same
