Does Moto G(2014) supports UHS enabled micro sd cards?

I want to buy a samsung or sandisk UHS-1 card, but i am confused whether moto G supports UHS , otherwise the cards wont be able to give the specified transfer rates

On the Motorola website, they say that the card will work on the device, but it doesn't support UHS-1 speeds. I read some comments below and there are people saying that their UHS-1 cards are not working on the phone at all, and are giving them an error saying "Removed SD card".
