Does Smart Switch work on all Android phones or just Samsung?

I recently read that Smart Switch is now only for Samsung phones; is this correct? Reason I ask is that for work I am getting a Huawei P9 and need/want to transfer everything from my Samsung S6 Edge over to the P9 (photos, apps, email accounts and passwords, wifi passwords etc.) I think NFC will also do some of its, but just wondering if I can transfer from Samsung to Huawei? Any other info on transfer programs/software would be much appreciated!

This should answer any questions on the app. Considering it's a Samsung-branded app, I would imagine a Samsung device needs to at least be involved, though if it's like Moto Migrate I imagine the Samsung device needs to be the destination.
