The MHL Spec is the one you are looking for... The microUSB connector doubles as an HDMI out port with appropriate cables.

ah ok cool good to know. My Photon allows mirroring of whatever is on the phone's screen. Good to know the Evo LTE has the same capabilities. Is there an MHL cable that will allow charging while being plugged into HDMI?

Yes, they all work that way.

You shouldn't need to pull the card. I have the HTC MHL adapter and use it with my HTC EVO View and it just shows whatever you see on the device on the TV. Plus they'll have their wireless HTC Media Link where you won't even need the cable.
