Does the Evo have any faults?

Biggest flaw- it is a 1.0 device on an untested new 4G network for smartphones.

Not really a 1.0 device. Its the first 4G phone, yes. But:
1) not the first CDMA 2.1 Android SenseUI and should be very similar as the Incredible in that aspect
2) not the first 4G device. The overdrive and USB 4G data cards have been out for a while now.

I think this is a pretty safe 1.0, unlike the pre which hadn't proven anything to begin with, and fell way short of expectations of consumers.

HTC has lots of experience building phones and with the software.
The form factor is "proven".
The Evo seems pretty similar to the Incredible besides the screen and the HD2.

4G isn't really an issue with the amount of people that will actually get to use it.

Actually from CTIA to June 13th it's almost 3 months.
3 months is a long time in phone years.

Maybe more RAM. I'll say that with an up to 32 GB microSD choice, I think storage is a non-issue.
Been following this for 3 months before CTIA, and my dreams will soon be fulfilled.

I heard it doesn't have a trackpad or trackball or something like that... but that's ok if you don't use it.

That is correct. It was determined that due to how large the screen was, a trackpad/ball would not be needed to achieve the expected precision one would want. The screen will more than suffice.

Actually, it's been in development for 2 years, so the 3 months are nothing :D.
Yes it is! It's driving me nuts.
Wouldn't be so bad really if my Pre worked. I may doctor it again tonight and see if it stops crashing.

Faults are definitely subjective.

If I could change one thing it would be the front and side material. It appears to be a gloss piano-black plastic which I'm sure will be very susceptible to finger prints and scratches. I'd much rather have either aluminum or the soft-touch plastic material.

Otherwise I wouldn't change a thing.
