Does the OG Droid have a magnifying glass for text editing?

On my Droid X, if I press and hold on any word that I'm typing, I get a magnifying glass pop up that lets me easily place the cursor at any specific point in my text for me to edit. My son has an original Droid with Froyo and I was playing with it today and noticed that it doesn't have the magnifying glass thing. He really likes it on mine, so I was wondering if there is any way to make it show up, or an app that does it?

nope. Text editing and copy/paste are really lacking on the stock android phones.
