does this happen to anyone else? (SMS)

I got mine on launch day and its been happening before and after the Froyo update. it ONLY happens to me when i get a NEW message and i am trying to launch the app and read it.
Any other time i tap on messaging, then tap the right sender it will be correct.

It used to happen to me alot before i was rooted. I think doing a wipe fixes this. My friend had the same problem and I told her to do a factory data reset and she hasnt had the problem since. this is all with the stock sms app.

It has happened to me several times and just happened again this morning. It has only happened after the update.

I select a person to send the message to, type the mesage and send it. The message goes to the correct person but is listed in the message thread of another person. Really weird. They have some thread issues going on.

This is using the stock messaging app.

Everyone once in a while I carefully select a person and it brings up someone else.

At least so far I've not sent a message to the wrong person but according to my messaging conversations I have.

Makes me feel better too! My wife and I were exchanging some sexy messages and all of a sudden one of my messages showed up in the thread to a co-worker. Man was I worried. But she got it and he didn't.

Texting Problem Solved

I found a fix.


Go into your sd card find the folder named "B2TF"
open folder
there will be a file named "Flux Capacitor"
delete the "Flux Capacitor"
do a "blackberry" ever famous battery pull
wait five minuets
during the five minuets thank GOD you no longer have to do a "blackberry" battery pull
then insert your battery and restart
texting problem will be gone!

This has happened to me a few times. What I do to stop it from happening is this:

When I open my stock messaging app, the window opens that shows the names of all the people you have had text conversations with.

Before clicking on one of the names to compose a new text or to reply to a received one, just slightly jiggle the scroll screen down and up a tad.

This seems to coordinate your input and keep you from selecting the wrong name.

Would love to know if this helps anyone.

It is is not selecting the wrong name. The messaging app is linking the message to the wrong user.

Same problem before and after Froyo. Came here looking because of it. Always seems to be mixed between the same 2 people too.
