So the Bionic SHOULD be able to get the ICS update then right?!?!
So the Bionic SHOULD be able to get the ICS update then right?!?!
Pretty sure any phones that have come out past say May or June should be getting ICS as long as their manufacturer wants to do it. For a high end phone with so much popularity I would expect Motorola to want to update it. All depends on the manufacturer, and Motorola's usually good at updating their devices.
I would expect it to take 2 years, at least, before we see the effects of Google owning Moto.
There will be a lot of cleaning house and design work that needs to be done first.
What kind of cleaning house? They just own the company now, they haven't announced any changes. I'm sure we'll see a few, but it's not like they're moving them, Motorola Mobility will still be an independent company. I really don't think 2 years, I say a few months and Google will be happy with Moto.
Does this mean we're all lusting after "Bionic by Motorola Mobility, Inc., a Google, Inc. Company". ?
Curious how they will brand their devices.
Brian
Most likely it will just be branded as Motorola, no change. Kinda like how Disney owns ESPN but you never see Disney mentioned on any ESPN channel. As it is now, most (if not all) Android phones have the little "Powered by Google" badge or whatever it says; I think that's mention enough.
Just remember that the Bionic is a GOOD phone (as far as we know). The only complaint heard so far is that some do not think that they will like the screen. I will wait a while (Been waiting since 12/22 anyways) and see how early adopter reviews go and see if I hear any concrete info on another device that would make me want to wait.
Yeah news of this phone was definitely a wrench in the spokes.
Well, you can sit there with your "brakes on" and keep waiting for the next best thing to come along, but I am getting the Bionic.

My only thought is, at this point does the Bionic really matter? With the HTC Vigor rumored to be around the corner, the Droid HD coming at some point, along with a Revolution 2, and possibly a Nexus device or other Ice Cream Sandwich device for Verizon, I'm about to forget about the Bionic. Also I've heard rumors of a September or later launch for the Bionic. Not sure if those have been debunked or not. We've now seen almost as many high quality pics of the Droid HD as there have been of the Bionic and the fact that the HD is out in the wild like that tells me it's not too far off.

I just feel like the Bionic is the best of the previous tier of phones, but doesn't stack up to the next wave (Prime, Vigor, HD, SGS2, etc.). Who knows. I could be wrong.
