Does using Nova Launcher on the Note 8 hinder performance?

I have always been a Nova Launcher user, but in the past I have noticed that minor features that worked on Touch Wiz can become disabled.
I was wondering from anyone who switched to Nova on the N8... Have you noticed any features not working?

I also wonder what everybody's thoughts are on performance. My note 8 after 4 weeks is still smooth as butter. I haven't minded being without nova, except for a few customizations.
My concern is... do you think changing the launcher hinders the performance of a device?

I only use the Nova launcher - for several years. Runs lightning fast on the Note 8.

Don't know if anything that gets disabled except for swipe left for Bixby. Which I don't use

Same here. Nova is the first app to get installed. Superior to the stock launcher. The 2nd thing i do when setting up a new phone is enable the double tap to sleep gesture.

Note 8 is the first Android phone of mine where I haven't used Nova or AL yet. Touchwiz works great for now. When I get bored and want to play with icon packs(have over 50 on my phone), then I'll switch over.

I have Nova Prime but didn't install it on Note 8 and not planning to do so. Phone runs great as is and don't miss Nova Prime at all.

Running Nova launcher. Set up right after purchasing phone so haven't messed with TouchWiz at all. Someone else mentioned, no swipe for bixby. Performance seems fast and smooth to me...no complaints. I may switch launchers up though, like some variety from time to time. Have run arrow launcher (now Microsoft launcher) and that was ok. Think the N8 is a beast regardless of what's on board.

took 48 hours before Nova was installed. tw is so much better than it used to be, but no home screen looping was big issue and widgets cannot all be resized. plus gestures.

Yes, gestures and widgets are big ones. I also like being able to run my home screen and app drawer in landscape.

Fully agree. I tried to go without Nova Prime for 72 hours. TW is better, but does not give you the fine control over the look and feel of the phone. Plus the gestures add so much to my user experience.

Yep, I also have Nova Prime and have installed it a couple of times on this device but after mucking around with it and the extra apps I have to download just to get the same functionality I have straight out of the box with the Note 8 I end up removing it and it's accompanying apps. I find that TouchWiz this go around is MUCH smoother and nicer looking than ever and I'm going to stick with it for now.

Its all still lightening fast here. I love being able to make the navigation panel disappear and transparent to utilize the entire screen, and I'm used to using a scrollable set of folders on the bottom for organising everything neatly.

If I recall, on he note 4 there were some widgets that were touchwiz only... I'm not sure if thats the case on the note 8 though.

After a month of use of the note 8 and nova prime, I'm still in love with the phone!

I love Nova on the Note 8 more than stock TouchWiz. you can still use the theme engine, and it's lightning fast for me after a month.

Just switched to Nova prime after nearly 2 months of ownership. Might switch back to stock as both are excellent.

I think the weather widget and a couple of other Samsung widgets are gone in Nova. Also you can't use the motion effect for wallpapers.

you do get the ability to use swipe left to Google now on Nova which I use and love.

I was using Action Launcher but noticed it caused some lag on my Note 8. Switched to Computer Launcher. Like it a lot and there is no lag
