Doesn't Announce Phone Callers Name

I've searched through settings and on the internet for ways to get the Pixel Buds to announce callers name on my Pixel 4a. So far all that I've read is that it can't. I find that hard to believe, especially if you need to use it hands free without having to look at the phone it would be necessary to hear the caller's name.
So does anyone know of a way to get the Buds to do that?

My 2015 Moto X Pure Edition was able to do that, and so were Moto phones before that, but I don't think the mighty Google has been able to catch up yet  :p

That's what I find a bit perplexing about the close integration of the Pixel Buds with the Pixel phones. One would think Assistant would be very chatty in announcing callers. My Plantronics bluetooth ear pieces would work seamlessly with every Android phone I've had. I never had to touch or even look at my phone to make calls, hear who the caller is, and answer or ignore the call.
Google could take a few lessons from Plantronics.

Here's something else a bit goofy. When I want to take a screenshot I just say "HG Take a screenshot" and a screenshot is taken. When I'm wearing the buds and say that command Google Assistant just instructs me on how to take one using the power and volume keys. It won't take one.

Caller ID Announcement is now being added. It works very well except for one little complaint. It doesn't mute ringtone when announcement is made. Makes it a little difficult at times to make it out. But it is a very good addition to wearing wireless earbuds. No need to be in the same room next to the phone to know who is calling.

Yep I expected it to work like Moto's version and just announce the caller.... don't really understand the need for the ringtone and caller ID to compete for our attention? I suppose I might try a quieter, simple ringtone and see if that helps.

Make sure you send feedback to Google about silencing the ringtone behind the announcement.
