You are absolutely right. I like to keep everything I own in line-new condition. I freak when things like my car, etc get blemished (which is why I no longer have my GN2). Purity brings me pleasure.

My point is to what extent is it realistic to give up the user experience in favor of protection and the sacrifice of the pure enjoyment of what you have? Many will like the purity of using the phone without a condom, while others will take solace in the knowledge that their phone is proctected from physical harm. It all comes down to which brings you the most pleasure?

I guess it all boils down to how paranoid you want to be and how it will affect your life experience.

You could live your life inside a plastic bubble and likely never get sick, but how much would you enjoy it?

I like naked phones as well but have a slim Seidio case on my phone... Just so I can have a kickstand for watching things on it.

I feel the same way. Save some light scuffs on the back cover, my phones are typically in pristine condition when I'm ready to move on to my next one. I am very careful with them and work in an environment where they aren't susceptible to damage. This isn't the case with everyone and I'm sure others don't have opportunity baby their phone like I do.

In retrospect, a better analogy would have been seat covers or Scotchgard in a new car. If you work a job where you get dirty, it's certainly advisable to get seat covers. If you have kids, Scotchgard would be an obvious choice. Likewise, if your lifestyle dictates that your phone needs added protection, by all means get it.

I used to use the spare battery charger on my S3 and Note 2 to watch things. Unfortunately, unless I get a case, there is no option to watch things hand-free that I'm aware of.

Again, it's nice but leaves the top and bottom of the phone unprotected. So, as long as that lack of protection is not an issue for you it is a nice case. The AT&T Corp. stores have them in stock and I looked one over.

Dropped the beast the second day I had it. Ordered the neo hybrid spigen. Rocked it for a week and realized I love the feel of the phone naked.

Over the years I have had many 'accidents' starting with early Palm Pilots. (with aaa batteries) and ending with today's GN3.
It's not just the phone with me. I record data and notes on a daily basis. I have Data on my GN3 that I originally recorded on a Palm Pilot. These days I have data backups. But it was not always so.
Every accident with my phone is so important that it is burned into my memory.
THE MEMORY SAYS: DON'T DO THAT!

So far I have been lucky going without a case.

I just received my s view
case and it's almost like going naked... there's really no protection. Only covers the front and back. I think I will be using my other case that covers everything when I know I'm going to be out for awhile.

I want the protection but want to appreciate the phone's sliqness too. A light TPU case and a screen protector has turned into a fair compromise.

Bought the wife a case off eBay and it fits nicely and I am getting a seidio review unit in a day or so but the thinness has me thinking if staying naked. It's barely noticeable in the pocket.
