Don't be shy... Who is going Naked?

Tungsten carbide is what I wear for my wedding band. What does it do to the screen? I have my s3 in an otter box so it shouldn't be an issue. Just curious lol sorry for thread jacking.

Tungsten carbide rings are, IMO, the bane of all existence. I had a faint scratch about 1/4" in length that couldn't be seen under normal use, but was there when the light hit it a certain way. Because of the extreme care I take with my phones, I could only surmise that I was carrying my phone in my left hand with my screen to my palm when it happened. That ring also scratched the heck out of my new car's interior door handle from my grabbing it to close the door and I accidentally bumped my hand against the steering wheel and it put a nice scratch in that as well.

I decided to quit wearing it before I put someone's eye out.

Not me - used to do that forever, but in the past few years, decided to use cases. I'm using a bright orange UAG on my Note 3 with a Bodyguardz mat screen protector. I tend to drop phones once in a while and this one's so damn big, I just know it's gonna happen sooner or later...so, good, protective case it is!

I'm rolling naked except for when I wear jeans or travel I bought a nice wallet style flip case. I tried the s-view and didn't like it. The phone is too beautiful to cover up. I have insurance in case I hurt it.

I have I am not being very smart going past a month and not having a case or display protector. I want a HD protector and can't find one here in Holland. Got one for my S3 when I was in the states a few months ago.

I commend your bravery. I can't even take me devices out the house with having them fully clothed.

I have the S-View cover which IMO enhances the look and the feel of the phone...

I do want to learn more about this. I've been watching YouTube reviews and like the premise, but I'm considering the practicality at work and how much it actually protects the phone.

My concerns:

  • Dust getting embedded in the creases and scratching the phone.
  • Wear from opening and closing - how long does it take to start cracking at the top or bottom of the fold?
  • The flap being in the way when I'm using the phone in daily use. I do a good bit of typing on Word documents and emails throughout the day.

Right now it's right up there in my "unneeded/impractical toy" wish list with Galaxy Gear.

Oh I love my phone naked

and I never use cases...just adds bulk...

UNTIL I went to take the note 3 out of my pocket and it hit the ground and put a nice shatter in the lower left corner NOT covered under warranty. The silver ring has a few dings from it too. I just so happened to land the wrong way on the pavement on a small rock or something...

NOW im fubared...

Wonder what its worth with a cracked screen (the phone works perfectly)

and when I get it fixed how can I protect it?

Keep in mind if you dont have insurance youre fuxed!!!

This. This is why I'm frightened to not use a case and screen protector. Otherwise it seems like playing Russian Roulette with your phone and the concrete.

I guess it all boils down to how paranoid you want to be and how it will affect your life experience.

You could live your life inside a plastic bubble and likely never get sick, but how much would you enjoy it?

My phone will give ME better experiences if it stays in unblemished like-new condition. The cases and screen protector simply promote this.
