Nothing new to add to this forum, except that I can confirm that Samsung acknowledges the changes made (also regarding the exception of using thumbprint) with no mention of a workaround. And as expected, no mention of the WHY - like accidental button pressing in the pocket or whatever.

I agree, it's totally annoying.

Samsung confirmed this. They wrote that it's necessary to prevent self dialing. After insisting that it doesn't make sense and the demand for changing it, they wrote that it's a feature delivered by Google and that they cannot do anything about it. Until now, I thought Microsoft is specialist in doing such crap, but Google seems to follow ...

So: How to contact Google? Does anyone know how such issues can be placed at Google?

OK , People try this .. So far it works for me since last night ..

Clear out or remove all your password + patent lock, finger print or any kind 0f lock on your phone until you see " Screen lock set None "
Reset your phone , you should be able to log in directly ..
Now ... set your lock screen again .

I am not sure how this works for you and NO ONE else....
Didn't do anything for me either except waste my time.

Samsung has done this on purpose and I doubt there is a way around it right now.

Related to post #52:
It worked for me although I had a different but probably related problem: after unlocking the screen no secure mechanism (neither pin nor pattern) worked, just swipe to get the control.
Only to be more precise I did a restart - not a reset - after setting none securerization.

Thanks

My friend is on S6 Edge and is using a third party app to lock the phone.

She experiences the double unlock features when using the third party app to lock the phone. I have her try to lock the phone via power button or due to inactivity, she did not experience the double unlock features.

If you are using third party application to lock the phone, GET RID of this then everything will be back to normal.

Not on Marsh but probably the same issue.

Here is a link to the Microsoft site discussing the issue...quite pleasing for me.

https://nextlockscreen.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/468986-why-do-i-still-see-the-system-lock-screen-after-un

You have to set the android stock lock screen (whichever you use) to "none." If it is not available for selection, clear your credientials.

Should solve the problem...also make sure that Next is an administrator...

For me on an s4: Settings --> More --> Phone Adminstrators

My phone was requiring that I enter a password everytime I put my phone on the charger, instead of allowing me to use my fingerprint. In my case Snoozy Charger was causing the problem.

I figured it out I think, it was my Bluetooth headset. Long story short impair your Bluetooth device and when it ask you to add the device to trusted just hit the home button....
If any of you have smart watches or headsets you probably did like me when I first connected them. It was prompt that asked if you wanted to add device to trusted list or something like that. It only gives you one option and that's basically yes. In order for you to click no you wouldve had to hit the back button. Because your head set or watch was trusted as long as your device is connected that double lock screen shows up so it can be a "quick" way to unlock your phone.

Ahhh, updated to MM and now experiencing this. Adding a fingerprint as the unlock method doesn't help, it still asks you to enter the backup method to unlock. Why does it use the backup to unlock 90% of the time? This whole mess doesn't make any sense!

I use g920f and double unlock happens only when powering off and then powering on the handheld. While still on, after locking by power button or assistant menu I can use only fingerprint to unlock.

I'm already on the fingerprint lock but it still doesn't double lock screen and I have to enter a password each time I reboot or after it's been inactive for a certain amount of time. How can you completely disable the double lock with fingerprint lock instead? That's what I prefer to do. I would love to know how you did it. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I've found the solution that fixed it in my case. You need to turn of the screen lock setting in the developer settings! I hope that I helped someone.

Ok I have now activated the developer settings. But where is the screen lock setting?

I haven't read all the comments, so I don't know if this has been posted. I've been going nuts trying to figure this out because I had it fixed once before but I reset my phone.

Under security settings, enable "Power button shows lock screen." This will bypass the initial swipe screen. If you use Smart Lock, enabling this will change your lock screen to the generic swipe lock screen for trusted places, etc..

Turned off Trust Agent "Smart Lock( Google )" and still the same issue. Tried rebooting just to make sure. Same issue.
Also if others want to try it's actually under;
SETTINGS > LOCK SCREEN AND SECURITY > OTHER SECURITY SETTINGS > TRUST AGENTS

I am starting to think there is no fix for this., And it's annoying. Using finger print or 3rd party is NOT an option or a solution for me. Hope someone finds something soon. VERY annoying update.
No it's under System -> Security -> Scroll down to advanced and there is Trusted agents.

Anyways worked for me to remove it
