Wow! Lot's of info throughout this thread. After reading and trying most of the ideas everyone has presented I was able to resolve the issue with my S7 Edge by turning off the Screen Lock feature in my Nova settings. Apparently Nova was adding an additional layer of security to my phone that made it appear as if the update to the phone was the cause. After I turned that off I now only have to use my fingerprint to get into my phone (except after a restart of course).
Go to your Nova settings screen, scroll to the bottom, tap Advanced, tap Screen Lock, tap None to turn it off. Then set your normal android security settings as you see fit. This resolved the issue for me, but as some others have said it MAY NOT be a 3rd party issue for you. It was for me though. Odd that it didn't show up until after the update though. Just a coincidence maybe...
