Double Spacing when using Predictive Text

When I use Predictive Text when typing a message I get a double space after the word is inserted. I have found on other forums that this seems to be a problem with the 4.4.2 KitKat update. It appears that other user from other carriers have received an update to 4.4.2 to fix the problem. Is anyone else experiencing this problem and is there a fix for the Sprint platform?

My phone updated last night, and I just realised that I, too, am having this stupid double-spacing issue. Also, I think it stopped auto-spacing after punctuation? Irritating; please help us Android people.

I, too, immediately encountered this problem after updating the phone. I called Samsung, and they were less than useless. The rep was clueless, and his initial suggestion was to backspace after every word! When I said that wasn't going to happen, his "solution" was to wipe my phone clean - of all data, info, and settings - and start from scratch. Essentially, set the phone back two years and delete all my inputted information. I don't see a fix coming anytime soon.
