Double Tap to wake?

I currently have the Next Lock screen installed on my H8 because I like this style of notifications. I also would like the ability to double tap to wake. I have tried several apps but none seems to work or stick (works then turns itself off) with my current configuration. Does anyone have any recommendations to allow this functionality?

You will need to whitelist the app with the gesture function and allow it to ignore optimisations so that it doesn't get killed when the screen is off.

What app is best for the double tap wake up and how do you go about exploiting the app as you mentioned. I know my way decent around software but what you mentioned I'm not familiar with. Is that fairly easy once you have found the best or correct app to use?

I used Double Tap Screen On and Off (Kimcy929) app then navigated to Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery Manager > Protected Apps > Turned option 'on' for Double Tap Screen On and Off App is triple taps by default, I changed it to two.
