downloading documents onto phone...help!!

a little background, during the 25 cent sale google had i picked up office pro so that i dont have to print lecture slides and just take notes in powerpoint on my phone. just plain amazing why i never did this before but then again it was 15.00 USD full price haha. So as I am downloading from the internet, the documents are saved onto my internal SD card. I have a 64GB external and with 1000 pictures and music only 3 gigs are taken so I would love to use my external.

Question - How do i set my download preferences so that any documents that I download go straight to the external? I created a download folder in the external and tried going to the "file app" and then pushing menu to open up settings but nothing.

I would think the setting for where to store downloads should be under the browser settings.

In the stock browser you can choose which storage device you want to use (although not the specific directory) - I'd assume that also affects downloads.
