got a noob question for everyone.

ive rooted my phone, intalled custom recovery, made a nandroid backup.

now, i want to install HydroRom, it says "Download ROM to the root of your SD card". so when i click on it, it gives me the options, Open With or Save File. when i click save file, it just saves in my downloads folder.

i guess my question is, how do i download it to the root of my SD card?

You can use your file explorer (ex. Es file ) and just cut and paste to the root of your sd card.

Edit: Beat me to it.

so download the file to my computer(only option i have) then download a file browser app on my phone? will i have access to the file on my computer?

could i just pull the sd from my phone, plug it into my computer and move it that way?

Some recoveries will let you install from a folder, not necessarily from the root of the SD card...some don't...try hitting install in your recovery and see if you can navigate to your download folder (if that is where the ROM is downloading to).

If not, use a File Explorer on your phone to move the ROM from your 'download' folder to the root.

You can also download it to your computer and plug in your SD card or mount your phone with a USB and copy it to the root of your SD card...

alright, im just gonna take the SD card out and put it on there.

so now the question is, what is the root? can i just copy and past the downloaded HydroRom File onto the card or is there a specific folder i need to put it?

ok just for you guys ,the root of the sd card means putting whatever directly onto your sdcard, meaning just what it says nothing more or less
so just drag and drop it onto your card

no prob, sometimes it has to be explained so that it can be understood and done with less trouble than someone bargains for "enjoy"

Wish me luck, I'm about to try and copy and paste it on to my SD because my USB port entrance does not quite work

Most ROMs, Gapps, themes, and patches wiil allow you to install from a folder on the SD card. I made a folder on the SD card I named: All ROM Stuff. I move everything there but the flash_image and recovery.
flash_image and recoveries need to be on the root of the SD card ( /sdcard ), or, the same area (directory) as all the folders, just not in any folder.
