DROID 2.1 Update thread.

Yeah there's definitely only three homescreens with no option to change it in this build. Kinda disappointing, but not a killer for me.

To whoever is worried about home screens, get Helix Launcher. It'll change your life. And...it's free

Well, ran update.zip. Oooooh eye candy. Live wallpaper, Pinch to zoom. Slightly better performance.

Yawn. What's missing.. ohhh a few small things like an adult way to lock the phone, better Exchange support, email delete confirmation, ability to sync more than 30 days in folders, Bluetooth voice dialing, count me as a disappointed corporate Droid user. It's still the best damn phone I've ever owned overall, but seriously, some tiny tweaks would make this a corporate BB killer.

Chris, don't forget to add the fact that we can now run all 2.1 apps in the marketplace. If you have gone and looked, its FULL of new apps

You don't need all that. Just get Astro File Manager and you can do it right from your phone

Woke up this morning and was late to class so I could install 2.1

Everything is running just fine, and I'm glad to see my grass LWP back...I was missing it from the last time I went to stock.

Yea that's exactly what I'm doing!

Except I get no 3G here in the fortress I work in and I get about 1/10th of a bar of 1x so it's taking forever to download. that and cell phones are banned items here (stupid defense industry) so it's a pretty intense covert op just to update my droid ;-p

I agree! Major disappointment after waiting so long for the update.

We did. Check out the browser and try it. Make sure you're not on a page like Google where you can't zoom.

Everything works on my phone but it still says "Gallery is not installed." If I leave 2.1 on the phone will I still receive notification on my phone about an OTA update and will it fix the problem?

How about entering a password/PIN instead of tracing patterns? Every Droid user in my company despises this, typical comments "juvenile", "ridiculous", and some I won't repeat.
