Droid 2.2 problem/question

I am unable to download and run the HTC IME keyboard on 2.2. I keep getting force closes. Is the keyboard not compatible with Froyo? Anyone else having this problem?

Also...i tried to make a backup using ROM Manager and I ran into a little bit of trouble. It never booted into the backup screen. It was just showing the Moto Logo for a while...i got nervous and did a battery pull.

That happened to me. I flashed sprecovery in rom manager and then reflashed clockwork and all was good. (Before I reflashed clockwork I did boot into recovery and rebooted right away then flashed clockwork but I don't know if that was necessary)

There is an updated version 25 for the HTC IME that works for froyo. But the one that you have is most likely not compatible. You can get the basic one at xda developers on Jonasl original thread or build a custom one on gimpsta's themer site

i went to that site...is there a way to get the stock HTC IME instead of making a custom keyboard?
