Sam, What's your take on this build so far? Is it what you were afraid of or ...?

No idea. I refuse to install it until the root situation is fully tested. So far, it's not promising. The build itself is stable from what I've read. But with that new security, no way in hell am I touching it until I can get root after a full FXZ.

What link? I don't know what you're talking about. I think when I was doing a private backup in another tab my fingers may have slipped accidentally here on this tab. Damn browsers.

The link you posted: is it from a reliable source? Did you just mean "use at your own risk" simply because there's no way back to ICS if this build is a train wreck?

After all this time we have to ask this kind of question? LOL. All updates are signed by Moto. If it was modified in ANY way, it will fail to install. I put the use at your own risk cause there's no way back to ICS.

Anyone verification yet that if you used Voodoo to unroot and took the OTA that Voodoo let's you re-root?

Saw where someone on another board suggested a different method using the FXZ and people are now complaining they lost root. Obviously didn't listen to or know about Sam's warning and also didn't do any research.

For me, yes.

I don't do any rooting, modding, etc. Just a regular average user who wouldn't know it would fail to install, so thank you for the info.

Moto always includes the number of the version the update is designed to work with in the file name, so no. That just means that is it designed to flash over .246.

All of the above worked on my phone. YMMV.

That's how I installed it, from the stock recovery. Worked just fine.

I took the OTA with Voodoo temp unroot, then just installed the SS apk. I know that's not going to help most folks here, but it does work if you have the option.

No sir, installed right over rooted .246

I just installed the update, things are working pretty well for me. I installed over 246 and used voodoo to keep root. It's a shame though that if we ever need to factory reset or fxz we will lose root and not be able to get it back.

Did you have safe strap installed? XDA says it must be uninstalled but some users here say it installed fine with SS.
