Droid Extended Battery

I'd agree... I'd read someone saying there is a chip in the battery that works with the OS... I find that unlikely. But, never know I suppose.

Seems worse with the Seidio Extended than the OEM.

Never happened on my Blackberries. They had a whole other set of issues, haha... I can live with this I spose...

Well actually, I have seen the issue on BlackBerry's thats what I was referencing. I would think thats where the issue does indeed lay. I would wait for the long awaited 2.1 release and see if that helps.

That would be cool if 2.1 fixed it. I was really dissapointed in the battery on this thing, till I noticed this issue.

At least I know now, that the extended Seidio battery rocks all day long under seriously heavy use.

It adds 9mm to the back of the phone (according to Seidio) I'm overclocked to 800mhz and play Gameboid a lot (gotta revisit the classics once in a while) I get around 34 hours a charge.. which also includes all of the browsing and tethering I do.

If you need/want any other pics just ask and I'd be happy to take some more.. I can't find my OEM battery though so a comparison isn't possible sorry :(

Oh and the one where it's tilted upwards it's actually resting on one of the sides of the battery, which extends out far enough to support the phone giving it a nice viewing angle.

In regards to the battery meter.. I have a widget called Battery Left which attempts to "learn" your usage (it takes forever to calibrate), and after a while it gives a fairly accurate reading. I never reset my phone because of the system battery.. There's a free app that requires root called LEDs Hack which turns off the blinking red led when your phone thinks it's at 5%.

EDIT: I guess I can't post pics yet sorry :(

My door fits great, nice and tight... ONLY thing I noticed was that it sits about 1/64th of an inch off center. Barely noticable, but I noticed.

I havethe extended innocase and it covers it anyways.

i was thinking about just doing the whole bundle anyways. just getting all of that, plus the dock, and clip, so i wouldnt notice really.

I have the Seidio extended. Has lotsa juice. BUT, I use it a while and the phone says it's at 15%, I turn phone off and back on, and it's back to 70%... have to do this a couple times a day...

Thought the battery was crap at first, till I noticed when I'd swap the extended back in to charge it later, it was showing 60-70% when it said dead when I took it out to go over to the stock battery.

Wtf...

Thanks! I tried this and I have the same problem. I am a pretty heavy user most days (droid is a work phone and I spend about 4-5 hours a day talking on it) so I was pretty happy with getting about twice the time of the OEM battery. After about 10 hours of discharge I was at 30% so I turned it off and got it back to 70% just turning it back on. I wonder if it's reading the OEM battery correctly...

Seidio Slim Extended Battery Coming "Very Soon", Says Seidio Rep

Just posting this information for anyone who's interested. I spoke to a Seidio Rep online today about the slim extended battery for the droid, and was told it was supposed to be released this month, but it should be out very soon and Seidio will be taking pre-orders for it. She told me to place it in my wish list and upon official release you will be emailed with a chance to pre-order.

She couldn't give a specific ETA, but did say it should have been out by now and hasn't heard anything suggesting a significant delay should ensue. Didn't see this posted anywhere, so I thought I'd let everyone know!

If this is old news, please disregard!

Thanks for the update! Hopefully they will follow through. I would love an extended slim battery. Going to be great!

I hope they drop one real soon becausethus over clockingeats through battery, and the slim line is what I need the other one just looks to big

I bought the Seidio extended battery, and have ceased to use it.

I come from a palm pre, and Seidio's extended battery for the Pre is top notch. It let me use the Pre for 2 days heavily, felt comfortable in my hand in my pocket. So when I got my Droid I was ready to get their extended battery.

Even seeing how ugly it was I was fine with it, cause I thought it would still be comfortable. It wasn't. It makes the droid even heavier, and oddly bulky in my jean pockets. Furthermore, it makes it thicker which ends up causing me to change the angle at which my thumb interacts with the touch screen. The different angle for some reason makes it so I can't move my thumb around as fast.

I still have the battery in my drawer at home, and I'll probably use it if I know I have to do a lot with my GPS but honestly, I am happy with my Droid's battery life with the regular battery. I can listen to pandora throughout my 8 hour workday and end up with 60% battery by 5pm, or listen to the on-SD card music and end up with 80%.

I talked to a live rep via the online chat link on their website...only works during business hours (9-5 CST) if you want to try there...the girl's name was Rachel if I remember correctly.

I'm running the Rom in my Sig but I think I need to update my roaming capability because my cell standby is off the chart. more than screen

Yeah, or I would switch, because I have not really seen anyone with terrible battery life on Pete's ROM.

Also, just dial *228 then option 2, its very easy ;)
