Droid Incredible Shipping?

Gah on VZW's website it now says "Will be shipped by 6/1" I called my local stores and one said call back Friday (14th) while the other said they'll get some the 19th.

I'm wondering if I should just order online and hope I get lucky with it shipping early...

Said "shipped by 5/29" on verizon's website when I ordered on the 8th and it's already been shipped out to me.

I'm extremely frustrated. I ordered mine in the store on 5/8 and was told it'd be here early this week. I expressed concern to the agent because I have to port my numbers over on Friday in order to avoid another full month of billing through the old provider. They promised it'd be fast and that the delays online were inaccurate. I called today and they said it still hasn't shipped yet.

I don't understand why some people get it in a day and others wait a week or more. Shouldn't it be in order of date/time ordered?

For those of you that have tracking and ordered in the store, did the store give you an order# or tracking#? I tried putting in my order number (from the receipt) in but it doesn't appear to be enough digits. When I asked about this, they said that the order doesn't enter their universal system until the order is active and shipped... which makes no sense to me. Any thoughts??

man im with you guys, the wait is killing me! I ordered in store, it was a mess and wouldnt let me go it online because they moved my date and for some reason it wouldnt recognize it, but im keeping my fingers crossed it comes soon. Im ready to pack my storm2 away and not think about her issues for a while lol. Stay strong guys!

Same thing, except you get the $100 rebate upfront (the phone costs $199). Took about 5 minutes to upgrade my phone, 10 including waiting for keys to cabinets, smalltalk, etc. I'm not sure if the return policy or whatever is different, but I'm not really planning on using that

do they only give you a order # when they ship the phone over? I bought two phones from the verizon on 5/9 and I only received a tracking number/order number for the 1st phone which I have already received. However, for the incredible I didn't get any order # or tracking # and for that matter even any emails or notifications. should I be concerned?

I hear you guys, I ordered mine in store on Saturday, it's Thursday morning now. The girl in the store told me with overnighting it, I should get it Tuesday. I'd rather just be told I'll get it in three weeks and it come in week, than be told I'll get it soon and have to wait longer.

They said to call back Friday and maybe then they'll have a tracking number. Hopefully it's here early next week, as I'll be out of my house for a few weeks coming up!

For the people who received theirs, was it shipped by UPS, US Mail, FedEx? Did you have to sign for it? The email says you have to sign for it, and of course I'll be at work. Which means I'll have to go through some rigmarole to get it. /sigh

You can try what worked for me. Print out the tracking info you get, mine was from fed-ex. Circle the tracking number on the form. On the bottom write:

Please deliver on first attempt.
Delivery from: Verizon Wireless
Delivery to: <print your name here>
Phone Number: <contact number where you can be reached goes here>

Then just sign the bottom.

Tape it to the front door, or wherever you will think they will go to try to deliver it. Its up to the driver if they want to accept it as you signing for it, but it did work for me. They left mine on the front porch. My wife works close by, so when I saw the tracking saying it was delivered, she just cruised home for lunch that day and brought it in the house. Hope this helps!

I've never had a problem doing that with other things that require signatures! I live in an apartment building and always tape notes to my door. The drivers always leave it in front of my door (both FedEx & UPS have the access code so it's not like they're leaving it in the lobby).

I'm having the phone shipped to my work place though,

I'm getting a replacement sent to me, which is basically like a new order. Yesterday I was told they are quoting by the end of the month but that they were coming in sooner than that.

Today I called and spoke to someone else to get the order number from yesterday (I failed to get it..) and she said my order states 5/31 it'd be shipping out and that it wouldn't likely be going out any sooner than that.

So FWIW, different people are definitely giving different answers!

I ordered online 5/10, so I have a feeling that I'll be waiting a while

I went to neighborhood Vz store in NYC to get some accessories. The gentleman asked if I have the Inc. I said nope; ordered online. The man told me that in-store orders usually gets fulfilled in a couple of days whereas online orders may take longer, like 2-3 weeks (kinda backs up the ship by marker on website).

Store sales reps have the distinction of not knowing what they talk about, so I'll see what happens in the near future.
