Droid Incredible Shipping?

ordered 12th and got shipping confirmation today. live in Northeast IN and shipped out of Memphis. Not expected until 1st. damn holiday weekend. Hold out hope it somehow makes it here tomorrow.

Ordered mine on the14 th just got shipping confirmation shipped 27th will be here Tomm 28th by 3pm yeah baby its true the customer service people dont know anything as I spoke to one yesterday and he told Me it would not ship until the 3rd.

Ok, so I understand everyone's fustration with waiting for their phone, I am waiting for mine also. What I don't understand is that people are surprised about the shortage? I mean come on. The Droid Inc was the the first product with extreme shortages on launch. Look at the Nintendo Wii, PS3, etc. It's not Verizon's fault they are not the one causing the shortage. Trust me, they want to get the phone to you ASAP! I laugh everytime I see someone post "I am getting tired of Verizon" or blaming them for the shortage.

Everybody just chill, it's a phone your life is not going to end if you don't get it now. The more you rush it, the worse it will be as they slap these phones together to get them out the door and quality goes down.

It is pretty well established (from this thread) that the CSR's don't really know much about delivery dates. Why some people insist on calling them ad nauseum baffles me.
Understand that Verizon would love nothing more than to get everyone their phones asap. Without phones they can't charge you and when it comes down to it, they are in the business to make money. There is no conspiracy to keep the phones away from you.
I come on here to get an idea of when to expect my phone. I've never seen such drama. As dmcman73, said....it is just a phone, relax.
Again, my comments do not apply to most folks posting in this thread. Just that vocal minority.

They are pre-charging $199 or whatever BEFORE phone is shipped. So in reality, VZW is not really losing any money in most cases whether phone gets shipped in 2 days or 2 months or 2 years.

To me this pre-charging is most absurd thing. When I've ordered cameras lenses, or other electronics that were on back-order and was NEVER charged until the item was ready to be shipped. VZW is running giant free loan scam with this phone,

If you really think that, cancel your order and wait until they are in stock so you aren't taken by Verizon's great big scam. I don't know about you, but when I ordered, it wasn't some big secret about availability. Availability constraints were pretty well known.
Also, last I checked, the phones cost more than $199. Verizon is shelling out a big chunk of change per phone to HTC. So you are wrong to assume as you put it: "VZW is not really losing any money in most cases whether phone gets shipped in 2 days or 2 months or 2 years." They are indeed losing money. Not only losing in not collecting your monthly voice and data package fees, but in the fact that they subsidized the cost of the phone. They need to get you the phone ASAP so that they can start to recoup their subsidy.

Lastly, by using a very generous 10% annual return on your $199. A 3 week wait is costing you about $1.08 in lost potential income.

Seriously? You think that HTC is giving these phones to Verizon for $199? What is it about the term subsidy that so eludes you?
Again, I am pretty sure that you knew about availability constraints when you ordered. Since it sounds as if you don't have your phone yet, you most likely ordered after 5/11. After that date, it was common knowledge that they were constrained. Also the dates they were quoting for phones bought after 5/11 have not yet arrived.

So...you knew going in that the phones were constrained. You knew that you were being charged at the time of purchase, yet you still find the urge to whine about it? For $1.08

lol it will come. i think its a matter of callin in and gettin hostile lol. i called in yesterday for the 14th time and he said "sorry sir no info yet, thats all i can tell you" i said " u listen to me, i spend so much money with verizon over the yrs i practically own you so u let me talk to someone who can actually help me" sure as ****, tracking number 2 hrs later. im not a mean or inpatient person BUT for gods sake give me a reason why you cannot tell me anything, give me some glimmer of hope. all the ppl who call every day are just looking for some hope, so verizon if your readin these post you should all get together, get informed and if u give ppl hope instead of saying "you will get a confirmation in the email when it ships" i bet ppl stop callin so often. just how i feel. good luck everyone!!

I too ordered on the 14th and woke up to an email. I have been reading where people say they got upgraded to overnight but mine is still showing as 2 day so I will have mine on the 1st. Shipping from Memphis to Beaumont, TX. But the really good news for me is that I will have it in time for my trip and wont have to suffer through another week on now new phone.
