Droid Incredible Shipping?

Someone PLEASE give me hope!! I am a 6/5'r and was told yesterday that my phone would ship yesterday. I just called to get a tracking number and was told the phone is backordered until, get ready for it, JULY 15!!! They are offering me the options to exchange for a different phone or get my money back. I AM DISGUSTED!!

Edited to add: She had the nerve to tell me that they just didn't anticipate the demand for this phone!!!!!

Check this out... just for a twist...

AMOLED displays in phones haven't necessarily lived up to their promise; they'd been billed as the be-all, end-all answer for clarity, vibrance, and low power consumption, but in reality, the latest and greatest LCDs look just as good, offer similar viewing angles, have little to no impact on battery life, and fare far better in direct sunlight. We've been able to confirm this evening that HTC will be adding an additional supplier of displays later this year -- Sony -- which will be delivering its Super TFT LCD tech as a mobile exclusive (initially, at least) to key HTC handsets, some of which are already in the marketplace.


Specifically, Samsung's had a devil of a time keeping up with deliveries of its 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display, which means that the Desire, Droid Incredible, and Nexus One could all theoretically be impacted -- but because this is a problem of the demand for displays outstripping supply (or at least the supply that Samsung is letting HTC buy), at least some of the affected phones will likely be offered both in AMOLED and SLCD varieties. How those products will be differentiated in the market is unclear, but it may not matter much -- we're told that the displays are virtually indistinguishable. We're working to get our hands on an SLCD phone just as soon as we can, and when we do, we'll put our eyeballs on the case.

OK, so I called them up looking for some kind of compensation and they had to transfer me to the supervisor. They told me it would be delivered Saturday so they tell me no we don't do Saturday. Supervisor tries to give me 25% off accessories. HAHAHAHA. Already have accessories. So I have to get transfered to his supervisor's voicemail because it's Saturday and I won't hear back until Monday. The transfer is dead silence for a minute but I had to keep checking my phone to see if I got hung up on. Finally I get his voicemail and left a message. What a crock.

6/7 phone order here. They keep telling me that it is still scheduled to ship no later than the 28th. I'm not very optimistic.

So just call VZW CS again to see if my order, scheduled to ship yesterday, went out, you guessed it, NOPE. If this is due to them replacing the screen manufacturer, I guess it will be worth the wait, but if they are just giving us a line of crap because they didn't order enough phones that is crap! I told the CSR it would be better if VZW was just straight with us, if shipping is delayed give us the real reason and REAL ship date so we know. This business of blowing smoke and giving people an unrealistic shop date is just bad business!

I'm a 6/7er. Still hearing 6/28 ship date. I'll be happy with 7/1 arrival at this point. I've seen the 7/1 date thrown out alot.

Cmon folks, is it realistic to believe that 6/5 and 6/7 orders will ship before those 6/2,6/3 and 6/4 that have not and were told to expect a 5-day delay? Brace yourselves!

Well I just got my tracking number email at 6:30 PM MST.

6/3 order online at 6AM and I'm in AZ. It is set to be here with an estimated delivery of the 28th even though it is marked as a Priority Overnight delivery. Right now I'm just happy that I got the email.

Nice, so it sounds like AZ area may be shipping on time...or at least close.

So just got off the phone with a rep who told me that there is indeed a delay on the 6/3 and later orders (regardless of where you live) due to the screens not shipping on time. This delay can be up to 5 days.....so The phone I was supposed to have by monday I may not see til after the holiday weekend.

That is completely ridiculous. Verizon, you really have failed on this one. If I could, I'd be on AT&T with an iPhone, just because I could protest this crap. In the end, I could be waiting for this phone for a month. Ridiculous, Verizon.

What's worse is that we have to rely on other people calling the CS (which I'll get to in a moment) for info like this. We should have been notified, via email, of this from the beginning. The CS is borderline useless, being primarily staffed by morons. There are probably 5 people there who take pride in their job seriously, while the other 95 simply recite a few support documents in random order.

I don't think the Droid X is gonna be on backorder like this one...I am gonna goto my VZW store when the store opens the day the phone is released just to trade the inc for it.

This is what I think. Most 6.3 orders have been shipped. On monday they will finish up those shipments and start with the 6.4. On tuesday they will finish the 6.4 and start the 6.5. On Wednesday they will finish 6.5 and start 6.6 orders. And so on. Im just hoping to get mine before the long weekend. This estimate is guessing that Verizon ships the phones early in the week, because last week they seemed to do nothing on monday and tuesday.

everyone, keep in mind that the email notification isn't IMMEDIATELY after fedex picks up your package, it's an automated system and there are limitations to how many emails can be populated per second. same thing with notes on your account, they have to be populated and posted, and that isn't instant.

So what else are the front line CS reps supposed to do? You can't expect them to know more than what they are being told in the support documents. They are being thrown to the wolves by upper management.

My incredible was to ship yesterday, didn't get e-mail confirmation. The CS rep sent me a txt this AM stating all driod incr. with ship dates up to 6/28 may be delayed up to 5 days. Boo!
