Droid Incredible Shipping?

Does anyone else live in Western PA/West Virginia/Ohio that has spoken to a CSR? I'm just wondering what the estimated ship dates are for people from my area.

My brother ordered via the internet on 6/6 and was told today that hopefully he'd have it by the weekend but no promises. He lives in Cincy.

i know mine will be coming from west chester as well, and if theyre only on 6/5...well sht lol step it up, i could jump to droid x if i feel like it...possibility

ordered/processed 6/21, Chicago, ordered online, original ship date 7/19

I called Verizon today because I have a unique case... new family plan with Verizon for first time, ordered a non-smart phone for the pre-husband and it arrived the day after ordering... I was concerned that I wouldn't get my DI in time for him to activate within the 30 days, in case he wanted to take advantage of the 30-day trial period...

Anyway... for you early—read: impatient—DI forum stalkers... the CS rep told me that he couldn't really see my DI order because he wasn't in the "Internet Orders" dept but that he had some sort of program or sheet that said all orders placed 6/21 would ship by 7/19. He said he hadn't gotten any official or otherwise memos about delays but he had heard some people talking about it.

For what it's worth... I think the additional delays are regional.

So that's it... not much info but I thought the uber impatient or new, online, family-plan people like me may benefit from my experience thus far. Hang in there early folks... I'm pulling for you!

Hello Everybody, first post. Details first:

Order Date: 6/8 (In store)
Promised Shipping Date: 6/28
Switching number over from ATT
Location: Middleburg Hts, OH. (Just south of Cleveland)

So when I ordered In store on 6/8 the rep that did my transaction didn't give me any kind of temporary number or even take an e-mail address, so in verizon's eyes I don't have an account yet or any way to be notified of my shipping. So I gave verizon my first call since ordering my incredible. I asked the CSR if there was any way to receive a text message in place of the e-mail with my tracking number when my phone shipped. He said since I don't technically have an account yet there is no way for a text to be sent (which I don't get), but that based on the date I ordered, that my order should ship out next week. But when he said he would look my order up specifically, he went silent. I figured he was still looking stuff up or didn't know what to say, and as soon as I say "it was originally supposed to ship out the 28th or 29th at latest", he said that it was supposed to ship out today and I should have it by Thursday, or Friday at the very latest, and if I didn't get it by then to call back and try to get everything sorted out.

Because it's so close to my original shipping date, I don't know whether to believe him and think that I was one of the lucky few, or to just take it as some of the CSR BS that's been said to most people. But since he said he didn't have a tracking number for me I kind of want to say it's BS.

I'm hoping that it's the truth, and that some of us can get lucky. Maybe there's hope for some of us!

I will keep you updated over the next couple of days.
 
In case it might be helpful for anyone, I was able to get the following concessions. I'm posting this so that hopefully others will know what to ask for.

I didn't get anything I asked for, but I'll list what I asked for and what they gave me instead:
  • asked for "compensation", got free activation ($35) I think this is a default freebie. For this, he wrote a note on his business card and signed it, I'm to bring it in when I get the phone.
  • asked for a droid loaner (since my ATT phone is not working), got a loaner pre-paid flip phone w/ $15 credit.
  • asked for $100 to help pay for the extra month at ATT, got 1st month data free ($29) and $50 off the phone. For the $50, I'm supposed to ask for a refund when I get the phone then repurchase the phone, which he will sell for $249.99 instead of 299.99 (sounds fishy)
  • asked for a Droid t-shirt, got 25% off any 3 accessories (they might give this to everybody, I'm not sure)

It seems like a bunch of cheap stuff, but adds up, plus I feel much better having been compensated.

I don't know why I was able to get compensation when others have not, but one or more of the following may have helped:
  • I spoke with the salesperson who sold it to me. I'm switching from ATT and I think he gets a special commission for that.
  • Maybe new customers get more breaks. Is VZ the kind of company that cares more about new customers than loyal customers?
  • It sounds like the stores might have more authority than the 611 reps, who seem to only give $10 credits
  • I was very polite, but I really pushed hard and asked him to ask his manager when he declined my requests. Each time, he came back with something I didn't ask for, but better than nothing.
  • I went at a busy time and just kept asking for things when the salespeople probably wanted to help potential customers

Not to rain on your parade, but you're really not getting much of a deal, especially if you pay $249 or $299 for the phone. I've been with VZW for years. I get free activation for that and only paid $150, after rebate, for the DInc. I've been offered that accessory deal just for upgrading my new-every-two plans. The loaner was nice, and the free data is also good. But that's about all you really made off with. Not to mention others have received $50 credits AND free data, $100 credits, free months, etc.
 
Just got my 6/3 DINC today. Received order number Sunday and had overnight shipping. I know this has been said and it probably doesn't help if you're waiting but it IS well worth the wait. The phone is just awesome.
 
FYI...

Haven't seen anyone post this, but figured its worth mentioning.

I ordered in-store and DID receive a shipping confirmation email about 3 hours after the shipment tracker lists the 'process' as starting.

I just got an email from Verizon saying there is up to an additional 7 day delay on my order. It also says they are giving me a $25 gift card. Anyone else get this?

nothing on that yet...maybe ill get the same but what would I want a $25 gift card to verizon for? give me a credit on my account lol if this comes to others that is
 
ok...just got the email myself..my ship date was the 29th and it says 28th or earlier so maybe i wont be affected..
