Droid Incredible Shipping?

Hi I am new here coming over from Crackberry, my wife and I have 8330 and I ordered 2 Incredible's yesterday over the phone and VZW said it's a 30 day ship time.

Why would we flame you for that? If you were getting your phone early, then we would all hate you

ha... just for asking I guess... was so much easier to wait while I had something to do. Wish I had some electronic to play with while relaxing in bed... the pre-husband takes his iPod touch to work with him but it was nice the last couple days at home. *crossing fingers* for an early ship date.

Maybe I should settle with AmFam for a Droid Incredible in-hand? Ha... no chance.

It's finally here

Well I have been watching FedExs tracking since Friday and my Inc sat 60 miles from my house for 5 days. Then at 9:45 this morning the dog started barking at the door, and lo and behold, there stood a FedEx man with 2 boxes from Verizon. My Dinc and a new phone for my mom that I ordered last night at 5:45. Have them charging now so I can play with mine in a couple hours.

Ordered my Dinc (online) on 6/10 with no email or text notification of shipping so far. Called CS yesterday and was told it would ship on 7/9. I hate waiting, expecially since following this forum and seeing 6/11ers already getting their shipments.

No shipping confirmation emails today? Man...before the holiday weekend, they were going out like penny saver ads...now they seem to be scarce .

I ordered 6/15 in store, Orlando, Florida. Promised ship date 7/13. Still a lot of nada. Upset to see that they are back in stock on Amazon.com for $149 with 2 day shipping but the Carrier is still a month behind? What kind of sense does that make?

Now I'm waiting for it to charge...... Good luck everyone, I did call a few times and everytime got a different story - nothing was accurate other than the generic "well it should ship within 7-10 business days..."

So why isn't everyone canceling their order and just getting it thru Amazon? I am considering it, but wondering if there are any downsides to doing it this way.

The verizon rep at the store told me if I were to order my phone online it would cause my plan to be messed up because I am an old Alltel switched to verizon.

She said that I had an Alltel premium plan which makes my unlimited Data package only an extra 14.99 a month vs. it being 29.99 extra a month.

She says if I ordered it online I would not of been able to get that discount as they had to go in and do it manually. There were a few other things she had to do since I am an old Alltel customer but I cant remember exactly what all else she did.

Also I went in and asked before Verizon said you could cancel your order and get the X, but she told me I couldn't cancel at the time. I would have to wait for it to come in the mail and refuse delivery, which means I wouldve had to has more money for the phone while possibly waiting a few more weeks to get the phone, send it back, and get refunded.

Well, I called Verizon and told them to cancel my order and that I would be ordering through Amazon instead.

She said "Ok, I'll be happy to help you, blah blah." but then I realized that I didn't have my account password handy (family share plan) so I have to call back.

Looks like there's nothing they can do to speed up delivery, so I might as well go with Amazon.

Anyone else see why this would not be a good idea? I think it's smart since I get the phone without worrying about the rebate and I get it quicker (she said Verizon would ship 7/12, where Amazon ships today/tomorrow).

if i were you... id order from amazon and cancel the verizon order only after u get ur confirmation that its def in stock. ive ordered things from amazon before that say in stock, but when u go to checkout it says not in

Also one thing to keep note of too, someone last month was going to do exactly this too, and in the end Verizon wouldn't refund the money until delivery was not accepted. So you may take a pretty big hit on it until Verizon refunds your money you have already paid, if any.

Thanks. I actually called them to cancel my order after I wrote my post on the forums and then the CSR reminded me that Amazon.com wouldn't be able to insure my phone, and that Verizon couldn't add insurance to it if I didn't order it through them, so I'll just wait it out.

I have waited long enough, I can wait longer. The only crappy thing is that I have to wait for the rebate.

I also asked to be upgraded to 1-day shipping but they said they couldn't do that unless they canceled and then reordered and that upgrading to 1-day shipping is not possible. Guess I'll just keep waiting

I got a golden ticket! Err email.

Ship date 7/6 picked up 7/7 from the Bermuda Triangle known as Memphis. Hopefully it will make it before the weekend.
