Droid X hardly sleeps

This is starting to get annoying. About 7 times a day I check Spare Parts and it tells me that my Droid X has been awake 100% of the time and when i take a look at the partial wake usage page, the culprit is ALWAYS Android System. thats so ridiulously vague and i cannot figure out what the hell is causing this. About half of the time, a cold reboot solves the problem until a few hours later when it goes straight back to insomnia mode. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

My phone just started doing this as well. Nothing to do with the GPS bug for me though since mine is ALWAYS off. Might have something to do with my WIFI being on, but IDK. I'll have to play around to see.

Yes, I am using Autostarts as well as Autokiller and ATK configured with an extensive ignore list. After taking a look at that other thread, it would appear that I am also experiencing the gps bug. Since leaving gps off completely i havent had a problem. For now I think I can live with toggling gps on and off manually to get my phone to sleep. Thank you for the advice!

This is a well-known bug, that Moto has semi-ackowledged on their support forums (that is, they admit it's real, but haven't clarified its impact yet). The work-around for now is to put a GPS toggle widget on your homepage, and every time an app uses GPS (or just once in a while to make sure you didn't miss it) toggle GPS off and then back on.

Sure, it's an extra step you shouldn't have to do, but your battery life and sanity will thank you for it, and I fully expect a fix in the 2.2 OTA we get in a few weeks.

Great news! After disabling GPS completely and getting rid of ATK, Autokill, and Autostarts, my Droid X is running better than ever! I took it off the charger at 7am this morning when I woke up and I'm currently composing this message from my Droid X on the very same charge and its about 1:15am here in New York. I am quite pleased considering I have two Exchange accounts pushed to my phone in addition to GMail and Twitter and Facebook updates being fetched about once an hour. I also did some web browsing throughout the day, sent and received a little over 90 text messages, and 30 emails, downloaded some app updates, made a phone call, and spent a few hours at a friend's house where there is hardly any 1x or evdo coverage (although to be fair I was connected to his wifi for those few hours). Otherwise wifi remained off all day while I was at work. Very glad that I asked about this now, thanks again!

Yeah, the issue was the GPS/CPU sleep bug. That other junk just screws up your phone. Your battery life sounds like it's on line with what I'm getting (and I'd wager what all those reviewers were getting when they said the X has great batter life). Congrats on getting your phone to the point where (IMO) you can really enjoy it.
