Droid X pre-order from Best Buy

Not to take up valuable space in an Android forum with details of iPhone issues, IOS 4 had the same effect on my 3G. I am just coping with the new problems, waiting for the 15th to arrive. All it has done is increased my ardor to be done with Apple, and discover my new friend Android.

Yes yes, join our evil EMPIRE!

Hehe, yeah... I thought about downgrading back to 3.1.3, but at this point I'm just going to stick it out until the X arrives and then I can wipe the thing and transform it into an iPod Touch/Boxee remote. :)

Just got off the phone with Verizon CSR and she talked to her supervisor and they moved my new every 2 upgrade date to today so no waiting until August!!! Yippee!! I was very polite and didn't mention the Droid X, just that my Storm was my 3rd S1 and it again has been giving me problems. Now if BB gets in early shipments it will be like Christmas in July! I was first to pre-order at BB and now I am thinking I should have had them right down #1 on my order - darn it@!!

Thanks to everyone on here who helped!!

Sorry folks, one last question if someone could help me out. Just called my local Best Buy and they said they were still doing pre-orders for the device; unfortunately the woman I was talking to didn't know the exact pricing of the device after pre-orders and such.

So if I put $50 down on it, plus factoring in the instant rebate, I should only have to pay $149.99 + tax, correct? Thanks folks!

What happens is that you buy a $50 Best Buy gift card from them. When you pick up the phone, you still have to pay them $199.99, but you can use the $50 gift card towards it. So, you're paying $199.99 total.

Ah, gotcha. Bit of an odd way, but as long as I get the $50 towards it, that works too. Thank you!

I think it's actually a pretty reasonable way to do it because if you decide that you didn't really want to buy the Droid X, you're not totally screwed out of your $50... you just have to spend it at Best Buy.

I was also #1( Written on the paper as well) but i was told about appointments, which is what they did for the iphone 4 relase and he said it worked so well and was so relaxed that they were doing it again. I havent recieved my call yet. I was told that if the phone was in stock b4 launch day i could have it b4 the 15th. So im keeping my fingers crossed for the 13th or sooner.

I doubt they'd sell it before the 15th but it would be very nice if they did. I was the second pre-order at my best buy.

I did my pre order today. I was concerned about the number of people in front of me for the pre order, but they said that I was number 7. Apparently, not many people are aware of the pre order in my area. So, I should be ok at position 7.

Wait, did you say 699 for RETAIL price? If thats the case, then hell with that bull****.

Does any one know if I order one on the 15th from the online store, will it ship that day (get it on Friday) or ship Friday and get it on Monday?

im looking at the "Droid X scavenger hunt Official Rules" and it says: "4. Prizes and Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): Prizes (21): A Verizon Wireless Droid Phone ARV $569.99 each. Service not included with phone."

so im guessing that Best Buy don't have the actual price yet and the $699 is to save there butt- im going to guess that its going to be $569.99. Im going to BB today and get the pre order for $50 (gift card). ill call on the 14th to VZW store and see how much it is- hopefully BB price matches with VZW or they update the price-

the price with the NE2 and $100 rebate is $99 (unless your NE2 is only $50 not $100), if you qualify for NE2 at $100 and already put down your $50 plus the $100 rebate then you are talking just $49 to buy the day of launch!!
