Droid X Shipping on August 23!

I ordered my over the phone on 8/5 and no confirmation yet. Heck, I'm even checking my spam box in GMail just to make sure I didn't overlook anything. I'm thinking I'll get a shipping confirmation towards the end of next week. Just trying to manage my own expectations!

I wonder if they use a different distribution center for online vs phone vs physical stores. I know thats how the company I work for does it. Our store DC works completly seperate from our online DC.

I ordered mine online on the 4th and got my ship notice today 8/13 and should have it in hand on th 16th.

I ordered mine on the 10th (over the phone), with a "ship by" date of the 26th. I really hope they send a shipping confirmation; as having to wait an extra day for my X, while my wife happily plays with her new Incredible, will drive me insane!

That being said, is there any way to find out if it will ship sooner?



P.S. As a current Storm owner, I almost find it sad how many Stormers have jumped ship to come here. Almost. But not really.

$220 is what I have been told by a rep online for my upgrade.
($200 for the phone, after instant rebate, $20 for "early upgrade" fee.)
Other than that just call the customer service number to switch from Blackberry Data to "Droid Data" and Activate.

But all in all it seems luck of the draw? Some get it really soon, some are waiting; but it's all better then going down to/calling up the stores and asking if its in stock and getting it from them directly, correct?

same here. I suspect we should see shipment info either late today for a monday delivery or shipment info on monday for a tuesday delivery. it seems like the average is 5-6 business days after you place your order, you get shipment notification and then depending on where you live 1-2 days later you see your X.

just an update for anyone interested. I just got my shipment notification about 5 minutes ago, so the 5-6 business days from order confirmation to shipment notification seems to be holding true.

Better to order through customer service or online. None of the stores I know of have them in stock yet, and if they do they have people on the waiting list to pick them up from the stores. So online or CS is the way to go for now.

It's been officially 8 business days and still no shipping information email in my in-box. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that I'm in Hawaii, but nonetheless, I was hoping for at least the email. I don't feel like calling Verizon so I guess I'll just have to be patient through the weekend.

Fed Ex 2 day is two days no matter where you live, but out here they deliver pretty late in the day, so I'm hopeful it might even show up when I get home but I doubt it. Have a great weekend all yo patient waiters!

Not so fast, my friend. Unless you paid extra for FedEx 2 day.. it's two business days. No Saturday deliver is what I've been told.

On Aug 4th, I called about the screen freezing up the Technical Service guy told me it was a known issue and would replace it with a new phone. He said the new one would ship on August 11th.

I called yesterday (the 10th), and Verizon's customer service confirmed it would ship today. I did not get an email by 8 pm, so I called customer service. After getting a bunch of crap from the customer service rep about the 19th, I asked to speak to a superviser. He explained the order has been fulfilled (whatever that means), but would not promise I would get it until the 19th.

Even if it ships tomorrow, I won't likely get it until Monday. I'm more than a little frustrated right now.

I got my email this afternoon. FedEx's tracking page says it is supposed to be here Tuesday the 17th. Hopefully, they will send it out Monday instead. Unfortunately, I have a prior commitment Tuesday. The last time I left a note on the door for FedEx to leave my package, they left a signature tag on the door instead. I sure hope they leave the phone this time.

Actually, when I drove to the FedEx facility to pick-up my phone they told me it is at the discretion of the driver. I did not sign AND print out my name on the note I left.

Ordered mine on August 6th also, at my local VZW store.
Was told would ship on August 18.
So far I haven't heard anything, but really hoping it shows up early this coming week, as the
18 is this Wednesday.

I got mine a few weeks ago, but as soon as I got my tracking number and notification of delivery for the next day, I drove to my FedEx distribution center (I live near it), gave them the tracking number and asked them to hold the package. I picked it up the next morning at 0830. Very convenient if you live near your FedEx.
