the thing that gets me most about this shipping thing is how hard it is to get consistent information from verizon. i saw where people talked to cs and got some real information about when they would get their phone, but then i still got the stock response when i tried. the worst was some woman who claimed they couldn't access internet orders. then why could the other two people i spoke with do that?! the last i heard it looks like mine may not ship til the 31st, but i'm still hoping for sooner.

Ordered mine this morning, taking the plunge from years of Blackberries. Lets hope that 9/7 ship date is an extreme worst case!
most of the cs reps i've talked to say that ship by date is the worst case scenario but then someone posted that theirs got delayed.
Ordered mine on Aug 5th.
Ship date was originally set to Aug23, then switched to "you will receive your handset before Aug30".
Account was deducted Aug13. Order Status says "...being processed, check back tomorrow".

Followup - Got my Shipping notification today (Sunday 22nd)....Sunday???

No info available on the Fed-Ex tracking number as of yet..

i just checked verizon site and they say due to overwhelming inventory demand mine will ship 8/31. so why does someone who ordered only three days before me get a shipping notification today? this is what sucks. i guess i have no hope of early delivery. just so it doesn't get delayed any more. i will never again order a phone that's back ordered! i wonder how long a cancellation takes if i found one in a store.
Wow, ordered on the 6th and STILL no nothing. they promised me a ship date of the 18th (which would have the phone be at my house on the 20th), which was then changed to the 20th. Hopefully it gets here Monday or Tuesday.
Ok, this doesn't give me any confidence at all. You ordered the same day I did and your promised date was 6 days before mine?? AND you still haven't heard anything. Dood, get on the phone and raise cane! They promised a ship date and they owe you a phone. I hope you get something for the missed promise.
BTW - Has the charge shown up for you? Mine still hasn't.
Man, that's fishy. The 30th is a Monday. Unless they pay for weekend service they are promising "by the 27th" - right? I feel for you... you've been waiting longer than me. YOURS should be the next one shipped in the US.
Ordered on the 15th with a NE2 agreement. Got my tracking email this morning. Info has not been updated as of yet....but I feel a little better knowing I now have a tracking number. I'm so excited to ditch this crappy Touch Pro 2!! 
I know everyone wants their new phone. I do too, but it's not the end of the world. They will get to us soon enough. Let's all calm down. Its not really that big of a deal. We knew they were on backorder when we purchased them, and things like this are likely to happen from time to time. The sooner the better, but lets not start a riot over something so unimportant.
Well, my iPhone just cut off. So I called AT&T and they said the number has already been ported out and I don't have my Droid X! So, now I'm hold with Verizon and I don't have a working cellphone.
Just went to the Verizon store to check out what's going on. The promised me a shipment on the 18th but nothing came. They finally gave me a tracking number and it said it was shipped the 20th. So I should receive it by tues. They did apologize for not shipping on the promised date but did give me a discount for next months payment. Btw, I had ordered on the 6th. Finally getting my phone

Ordered on the 10th, so that makes it 12 days before shipping. Tracking says I'll have it on the 25th -one day before the drop dead date I was given when I ordered. Only 3 more days with my POS Storm!!!

I ordered on the 11th via telesales and was charged on the 13th. Called cs last week said the 30th. Cs today said 26th. We will see what happens.

Ordered mine on the 14th from the store in town. The fella that sold it to me said delivery by the 30th, but others had recieved it a couple days before they're due date. I called CS to make sure the order went through Monday moring, and the lady told me it was on order, and would ship out the next day and that I woul be e-mailed a tracking number after lunch. Needless to say, she didn't know what she was talking about. I called CS Wednesday to see what happened to my tracking number email, and the CSR said that everything the female CSR and I had spoke about was in the notes, but he had no idea where she got her info from. He tried to check on the estimated date, but couldn't get on the Verizon website to see. (WTH?) As of today, no phone, no email. But, the guy I bought it from at the store said the 30th, so I'm content with that. Now, if it doesn't show up by then, I might get a little worried.
