Well I'm bored so I ask this question. What would you want in a droid2? What would you change add upgrade etc

-Snapdragon
-8MP camera
-HD video recording
-Have some sort of SD card app (like Astro) built in
-Leave out all the bloatware (amazon MP3, VVMStub Facebook, Calculator) out (we can get it from the market if we want it)
-A better keyboard
-Optical track pad (if needed) instead of D Pad
-Dual mic
-More memory

My list, and I think it's easily done:

  • 1 GHz processor, minimum
  • A far better keyboard, with nothing cramming the keys to the left or right or any nonsense like that
  • More internal memory
  • A better camera and improved camera software
  • An LED notification light that's much bigger and brighter
  • An inductive battery charging option similar to Palm's Touch Stone

Hm. I would take the phone as is honestly with 16gb of internal memory, or even 32gb(not to be greedy) as well a a 1GHz processor, and a 2000mAh standard sized battery.

Just wishes if available...

1. A keyboard without D-Pad
2. 1GHz processor
3. Less crap apps (Amazon MP3, etc.)
4. More internal memory
5. Better camera software
6. File Navigation (a la ASTRO)
7. Tap to wake up screen
8. Better battery

^^Virtually what he said.^^

The Droid already has dual mic.
But I would love the ti 4440
Amoled screen,16 gigs of flash memory with a micro sdcard slot, scrap the keyboard and trackpad
Double the internal memory, upgrade the design for something sexier

Snapdragon...you guys nuts? I'd rather see something like a TI-OMAP 4430 or 4440. You'd get a Cortex A9 CPU w/PowerVR's next GPU refresh, faster than what the 3GS already has.

There's articles out there that show the PowerVR SGX 530 core in the Droid/iPhone 3GS smokes the Snapdragon's graphics core. I don't know why you'd want to downgrade to a Snapdragon on Droid 2.

I feel the same way just looking at how the current chip in my phone can handle 1.2ghz and run like it was meant to be at this speed. But n1s are becoming unstable at 1.13 is saying something about the family of chips we have

imho, Snapdragon is an unbalanced solution. All integer with crap FPU. Technically it's faster per clock than the A8's, but we're finding that Snapdragon is overhyped and not all its cracked up to be.

- 1Ghz Processor minimum
- 1GB RAM minimum (app memory, actually 2-4 GB for apps memory would be nice)
- 1GB ROM minimum
- 8 MP camera
- Higher capacity standard battery for longer life
- Upgraded screen to compete with other phones, maybe AMOLED?
- Get rid of the D pad and stretch the keyboard out like the Devour

HDMI output.
1g ram
1g rom
1.5ghz processor on the same structure as current or newer.
Better faster gpu
A keyboard I can actually feel or nixed keyboard.

Faster CPU
Better Camera/Camera Software/HD recording
Better Screen
Better Battery
Optical Pad instead on D Pad
LIGHTER WEIGHT

Can anyone explain what makes the snap dragon a better processor? I know the speed of 1 ghz or 1.5 ghz ect.. will obviously make a difference. Do people only want this processor because it has a great name like snap dragon?

Just asking...

I'd ditch the nearly worthless physical keyboard, improve the aesthetics, add GSM and European 3G radios, and/or add LTE equipment if it's warranted by that time.

Pretty much what he said.. :D

Can I change the question up a bit? What about what you'd like to see on the software side?

Improved Camera Software
Touch Screen to Wake
Flash (of course)
Better Media Player
Ability to remove items from the launcher or rearrange it
