Can the android dropbox client be set to only download/sync certain sub-folders of your dropbox?

I have a lot of files in my dropbox for work that I would never need or want on my phone, but could see it really useful for other stuff.

I don't think it can...but the way I understand, the files in dropbox are "in the cloud" unless downloaded to the device? So it shouldn't be taking up space on the device

The phone version seems to not sync files you never specifically download on your phone. Or out may be that the app is only a pretty front end for web version. That is how it seems to work to me at least.

Not sure what you mean there..but the app on the phone works as the folder on the PC..syncs, downloads, uploads...
