Dropped S8 (in case) face down on tiles - will there be internal damage?

Had my S8 less than a month, and took it with me abroad last week. Sitting down in a bar - a few drinks too many - my phone slipped off my lap on to tiles. Face down.

I've checked and there's no damage on the outside, my Spigen Rugged Armor case has obviously done it's job, but is it likely there will be any internal damage?

If there was, would I know, or will the case, along with the drop being about 2-3ft, not have any impact on the internals?

Wouldn't be so concerned if I'd had the phone for a few months, but it's not even a month old yet.

Hard to say... It's probably fine. The internals of phones are normally in there pretty tight. Virtually no room to bounce around and get damaged.

If it is working fine then I would not be concerned. As pointed out in the post above mine...these things are crafted pretty well.

Seriously, don't need to worry about it, this happens all the time, you are not the only one and MOST of the time nothing happens to the phone, in that strange and unique case where something does happens, it most likely shows the sign immediately, so if everything is working fine, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Odds are your S8 should be OK, if functionally you haven't noticed anything wrong a week later it's not like there are any moving parts inside to worry about. There are several friction-fit connectors but they're pretty resilient, and as far as mechanical fasteners (i.e. screws) getting jarred loose, Samsung has moved away from those and uses glues and adhesives a lot more now. If dropping your phone from a few feet is enough force to dislodge a waterproof seal then it would have never stayed sealed at 1.5m.

On previosly owned phones, I have seen optical image stabilization blocks damaged in drops that produced no visible external signs of impact.

There's a video of someone dropping the s8 from 1000 feet up. Sure the glass cracked but the thing still worked. Trust me I get the paranoia, but you'll be fine.
