Dropped the phone with Whitestone applied.

I've read that the screen protectos keep the screen from shattering since they are stuck to the screen. The screen can still break, but shouldn't shatter. That's in addition to protecting the screen from scratches. I never used them til I bought a Note. I didn't want to chance the s-pen getting a knick and scratching the screen.

The Whitestone adheres to the whole screen......

I love those who are skeptical. I hope if you go protectionless that you'll post when you drop your phone and your screen cracks. Even in an Otterbox case my screen on my Note 4 cracked. Protect your screen.
Can I post pictures of my 4 phones from the last 6 years that had no screen protector and no cracks and/or scratches?

you are not everyone. I am dangerous. if it can be dropped it will be dropped by me. I keep a death grip on my devices at all times and still drop them.

I'm willing to bet none of those phones had the soft Gorilla Glass 5 on them...

I took my BodyGuardz screen protector off. Dang thing got a ton of debris on edges. I will be going without a screen protector though I will be using a UAG plasma case. My phone never goes in my pocket and I have a microfiber cloth to clean smudges. I hate that the screen protectors only adhere to the edges and not on the actual screen.

Spoke to Bodyguardz in Utah Friday. They are releasing a full adhesive Note 8 glass protector within a few weeks. Will be available online and in AT&T stores.

Yes....The current Bodyguardz and Zagg and ALL glass protectors with edge only adhesive are crap!!

I just wonder if full screen adhesive might be a disagvantage as far as screen protection. The impact and force of the broken screen protector becomes one with the adherent screen. Perhaps, except for the edges, an edge only adherent screen protector might actually be better?

If the adhesive was like superglue when it cured, then I'd want to say yes. But in the case of the Whitestone Dome adhesive, when it cures, it becomes super gooey and tacky. I would think that it would work similar to a silicone layer in a 2 piece case with a harder shell.

Instead of paying $50 for a damn screen protector, call your home owner's insurance and add electronic goods coverage to your policy. My policy charges me $17 per year for $5k of coverage. $50 deductible. They replaced my Pixel after I dropped it.
Very few people probably have this capability. I know State farm does not

Home electronics coverage if offered by your renters / home owners insurance has a separate deductible. $50 in case of liberty mutual.

Does it raise your policy if you make claims? Valid question. Liberty in my case is a decent company and insures two homes, 3 cars and a trailer for me. I can't say for certain till renewal next year but knowing them I'd say no, reasonable claims won't hike the premium. Of course if I make 4 claims in a year it would be a different issue.

Paying $120 a year for coverage and another $175 deductible for phone insurance is silly.

I have the same company as you, i just went through the process of getting my son's surface pro replaced (he knocked off his desk and cracked the screen). They sent me a check for the replacement cost to buy a new surface (minus the $50). I talked at length with the claims rep and she was very adamant that this would not change my future rates.

There you go. I am not sure why more people do not know of this benefit or take advantage of it. My experience with my pixel was very similar - filed a claim entirely online, uploaded pics, got a call 3 hours later from a rep that a check was in the mail. $50 deductible.
