Android Central Question

Hi All -

I have a client that is having a very odd issue. When he is on a call, at various times he needs to hit different numbers to send tones, problem is that works fine UNTIL he switches over to email or text, sends a email or text then switches back to the phone screen, at that point when he tries to hit a number to send a tone he is unable to do so. He has already tried the obvious fixes such as setting it to send long tones etc... Is this a bug or does anyone else have or had this issue?

What worked for me after chatting with a Samsung Tech Support:

Go to settings >> Apps >> 3 dots on the top right >> show system apps >> search for the phone application ( 3 applications) >> storage >> clear data.

I'm on AT&T with an S9. After the Pie update I tried to phone the pharmacy. The asked me to Hit "1" so I did and nothing happened. I went out to settings>sounds>volumes and increased the System volume.

It's working just fine now. Can't see where this won't work on Verizon too.

My S9+ according to ATT help has no option to change the DTMF tone from short to long. So I cannot access ANY service which requires a touch tone keypad. Needless to say I was livid. ATT removed the menu item but by default, the tone is set to long. However my phone is set to short by default and I have no way to fix it. They are sending me a new SIM card and claim that is the fix. I will edit this post after i swap the card. Such bull****...4/1/19 swapped the SIM card and now DTMF tones seem to work. yay ATT...although they kept me on the phone for 45 minutes while "activating" my new card. And oh yes they had plenty of time to try to sell me crap.
