Android Central Question

My employer wants to install duo mobile on my personal device. Ostensibly the app is there to provide a two factor authorization facility. I don't see why they can't handle this via SMS and I am hesitant to have an employer controlled app on my personal device. Am I being paranoid or is there a valid privacy concerns here?

Duo mobile is a third party to your company and you. And it does nothing that I can see apart from just giving you a push notification where you can just click accept for the two factor authentication, like how Microsoft Authenticator, Lastpass authenticator and others do it.
As far as I can tell there's nothing to worry about.
