I do not use gmail and the email soft ware that comes with the Nexus 7 has problems. Links included in a email received will not open up and Jpeg attached photos will not open up either. Any ideas. Reconsidering Android now.

I just tried mine (app is named Email) and it worked fine.

Since Android can support multiple browsers it will attempt to launch the default browser, or prompt you for the browser if there is no default, when you click on a link. If you go to a web page in Chrome and click a link does that work? Does it stay in Chrome or go to another browser?

There are a ton of free email apps to chose from in the Play Store.

Yes, that is what I did. I installed Aqua and I now get pictures and links. I wrote Google but their reply made no sense at all. Still, my experience gives me pause to think that I might go Android for my next phone.

Did you enable HTML email in the stock app?

Good question. I must be confused, because there seems not to be any such setting in the stock e-mail app. I think I confused it with my LG G2 e-mail app.
