Early upgrade questions

I emailed support listed on the Best Buy website yesterday with the question - will Best Buy honor Verizon Wirelesses’ New Every 2 program and just got the following reply email: So YES they will honor the NE2 Verizon program.

Ok, how screwed am i?

I have a $39 voice plan (along with BB data, messages, etc), NE2 doesn't kick in until May 2011. Contract ends August 2011? I really hate this BB I have, and want an X. Is there any chance at all of getting some sort of discounted price? I hate this phone, but not enough to pay $600 to replace it. I guess being a Verizon customer for 9 years won't mean much to them...

Has your phone failed on you at all or have you had to have the phone replace if so you may have a shot. I would escalate this to a supervisor and in a calm and polite way explain you situation. Ive gone through several Env Touch phones & they offered me the Pre & Pixi as replacements then the ill-fated Incredible. I called back to cancel my Inc order since they said it wouldn't be until august that they would get more incredible and canceled then got on a csr list for the X. There is always a way around csr's at VZW just use youre social networking ninja skills, give it a try. My NE@ isnt until Aug 2011 either lol.

Alright updating my situation... Called verizon, Customer Service rep said he would be happy to switch my date to tomorrow, but at noon. He said try to go to the store in the morning and they might allow it, if not he said he would call me at noon and order me one and promised i would have one by saturday. I can live with that.. $100 cheaper = happy me!!

Ok so I went to the store on Route 17 South in Paramus NJ and they had about 100 of them, BUT they wouldnt let me use my NE2 so i told them to go scratch ahahah... anyone in NJ i suggest you go there, line was moving quick and probably will be about 30-40 left (about 50 on the line)

UPDATE!! So I tried emailing them again to see if they can bump me up from my previous NE2 date which is 9/23/10 to Today 8/19/10!! Wooooo hooooo!!

I called Verizon CS today and talked to a really nice guy. I got my last upgrade (to a Storm 2) on December 8, 2009, making me eligible as the primary number on a family play (5 phones) in 12 months - December 8, 2010. He was familiar with the early upgrade for anyone eligible in 2010 and asked me to hang on while he pulled it up. We chit chatted about phones while he found the spec sheet and he was saying that he thought that should be fine...I was pretty excited. Then, after he read the rules on it, he said that it would not apply, as the early upgrade is ONLY for contracts that will EXPIRE in 2010...not for anyone eligible for an upgrade in 2010.

Bummer. I guess I have to wait until December.
