I am thinking about buying Easy Root and rooting my droid so I can use WiFi tether. Before I buy it though I was wondering if I can use it on 2.2.1 FRG83D. If not I'd rather not waste my money.

Thank you for any help.

Just looked on their site and the info hasn't been updated in a while. I'd be a lil leary untill I heard otherwise.

If not mistaken I do not think Easy Root works with 2.2, you have to use another method.

I can't get this to work, FRG83D. is 1.5.5 the most up to date of superoneclick? its the only one I can find.

I've tried all the debug on/off things, everything I do, the program immediately goes into (Not Repsonding)

If you need help on rooting...you should look in the Motorola Droid Rooting, ROMS, and hacks forums...

I've been trying to use superoneclick but I've been having some problems running it because I'm on Ubuntu

It only worked for me after doing the SPRecovery process:

How To Root Motorola Droid

To clarify: I did the process in the above link, then tried the SuperOneClick program.

The order I tried things in:

Universal Androot - How To: Root Android Devices With Universal Androot App
SuperOneClick
SPRecovery
SuperOneClick

Then it worked.

scratch that... clockworkmod's ROM Manager isn't working for me claiming that it is failing when trying to run privileged commands
