Edge display

I'm starting to think you should have kept your S7 Edge. My girlfriend has one. It's what made me decide to get the S8, but I realize I like her phone way better. It's got a bigger screen and seems to be more useful and less of a PITA as the S8.

No way! I hated the s7 edge. Never wanted it in the first place since I had a note 7. I have the s8+ now. I just miss a few settings the s7 had

I added a handful of people for quick messaging. I also put things like gallery, calculator and a few other apps for quick access. I am coming from the GS5 and that had a little button you can add anywhere on the screen that opened up so you can access a few apps. The edge display works better in this aspect. It is mostly hidden and easily accessible. Overall I love the edge screen which I wasn't so sure about the edge display when Samsung introduced them. I was worried about hand hand placement and all that stuff but no issues for me even with a man sized hand.

Have any of you experienced the annoying feature where the edge panel will close itself upon receiving a notification? For example, if I have the edge panel open and receive a text message notification via textra, the panel will close and bring me back to whatever screen I opened the panel in front of. If anyone else is experiencing this or knows a fix I would be very interested to hear, thanks!

I use

Apps and tasks
Soft key edge.. Nice for screenshots
Smart select
Fast notes
Apps edge
The calculator panel

I use apps and tasks for direct text messaging instead of the people edge. I like having it go directly to sending message when I tap the person instead of having to tap the person and then tap message or call. I have speed dial for calls.

I use just the standard panels. I have all my apps organized into folders and use the weather panel, and screenshot panel that's it.

Cash figure this out
While watching a video simply swipe the edge to gain access to " animation".

Click onto that and it'll be on top of the video you're watching.

Set the screen to the size and what you want to record and click " record " for the few seconds to create a GIF.

I hope that made sense?!

It'll save into your gallery. Good luck!!
