Edge Lightning Not Working

I have Verizon and CAN get edge lighting to work only when the screen is face down and off. It doesn't work when the screen is face up, whether it or the always on display is on or off. However, even though I have set a custom color of red, when a call comes in, while the screen is face down, the edge lights up green.

Go to Settings, Display, Edge Screen, touch the left side of Edge Lighting then Manage Notifications.

Yup... Done that and checked it a bazillion times... Its there... Its on... Its selected

Check this setting as well. My stock messages come out in yellow/orange colour, whatsapp in green and TypeApp in blue. Vodacom South Africa

Unfortunately that does nothing. Still doesn't work with the screen off.

Mine too... Went through all my settings... Again... Restart the phone... Still nothing

Mine does not work if the screen is off. It is now working after a message app update when the screen is on

Yup.. Mine also works when the screen is on... But I want it to work when its off!!

Is the phone face down with the screen off? That is when the edge lighting is supposed to work.

Nope... Its suppose to work even when the screen is not face down.... See the YouTube video posted a bit up in this thread

Sucks that you all are having problems. Mine works with what apps I got it set to and works when phone is face down, phone on its back, screen on and off. If you all have already tried all the settings etc then I don't know if I could help then. Sorry. Maybe try and switch it out

Gosh.... I'm out of ideas to help out here... Perhaps for those having issues it might be time to go to your local carrier's walk in store and let them know whats going on and see if the store demo works or not as well.

Mine works fine if screen is on or if screen is off and face up. Not sure if it is supposed to work screen down - doesn't from what I can tell.

Just tested my husband's figuring he didn't even know that was a feature (which he didn't) and his doesn't work either. Don't think it's likely we both got bum phones. I'm stumped

I've only gotten Facebook to work with screen on... nothing with screen off. There's a list of them that are supposed to work in the edge screen settings

When I was installing my.samsung app updates. I turned my screen off. The edge lighting worked! Cool.
