Edge Lightning Not Working

Not to derail the thread here guys. But does anyone edge lighting work for Samsung's default messaging app when the phone is off? Mine only lights up orange if I'm on my phone while I'm using it.

Mine works when phone is on and off for stock messaging. Facebook only works when screen is on.. that's the only 2 apps that work for me. Funny thing is I've seen this on another post and on Samsung+ , it seems to work or not work differently for a bunch of different people. Very strange

Yours works when the phone is off and on... Weird, mine doesn't. Hopefully a future update will fix this.

Yup. I considered going to my carrier but I've seen a lot of complaints of it not working properly so doubt its anything they can do. I usually use message+ but it didn't work so I switched to stock and that one did. Yes hopefully they'll have an update for it, its a cool feature if it worked properly!

My stock message app works when the screen is off, that's the only one
So when my AOD is on, phone is just sitting on the desk next to me, and I get a text, the edge of the screen will light up a nice pink, but I hardly get a text message, so I never get to see it. I so badly want it to work on whatsapp.
I really hope they can fix this, it's such an amazing feature, and I want it !!!!

Mine only works for text and blokada.
Until I installed blokada I didn't see it working at all, when I saw it I went into settings and told it all apps, did the same for notification settings. That's when it finally worked for text. Still not working for gmail.

I really liked it when mine lighted up to let me know while I was working. hope it's contact configurable later. I wouldn't want notifications for just anyone while busy.

I think there are a few things wrong with the edge. I had an issue with editing tasks and after 3 hours with Tech support I had to perform a factory reset. It resolved the problem but what a pain in the arse.

Yeah that is the only app I ever got working as well. Seeing as I went back to Textra I ended up just turning Edge Lighting off.

I think there are a few things wrong with the edge. I had an issue with editing tasks and after 3 hours with Tech support I had to perform a factory reset. It resolved the problem but what a pain in the arse.

imo there are things all through TW that have issues. I've seen so much os weirdness. the one small update helped, I'm sure, but we need a Samsung, big dog update and that will take a while. the os just isn't meshing well. didn't leave it in the oven long enough

I'm on sprint and my edge lighting only works when the phone is on even though it is configured for "always". Whether just text notifications or all available notifications is selected. Only using the stock messaging app so unable to comment on other messaging apps, anyone have it working on Sprint with default messaging app?

My edge lighting works perfect. I have it set to light up the color of the app. Orange for stock sms, blue for Facebook, green for whatsapp etc

I have it enabled for whatsapp. didn't work at all for me. got a whatsapp message and no flashing. it may be some weird setting of mine, but it took two weeks for textra to be happy enough to work.

I wish they had left the edge app alone. I remember when that first came out on the 7 Edge I think they use to have where you could set the first 5 contacts to light up your edge with a color you chose and it did that on calls and text and you could also pic and draw on a pic with your finger (I think) and it had a few other things you could do and if was called circles?
