Eeek...what's happened to my screen?!

I put my phone down this evening to make a cup of tea and all was well. I picked it up 5 minutes later and there were two clusters of very bright pixels towards the bottom of the screen. Any idea what's going on? I've not dropped and nothing has fallen into it.

It's quite tricky to photograph but I hope the attached illustrates the problem. The screen still appears to be functioning fine.

I think you may have "stuck" pixels. Check out this article.

I noticed in the article that he recommends you actually changing the screen if you still have a valid warranty. Which definitely applies to you.
 
Yes, I agree -- that defect might start spreading, in which case the phone may become unusable. Make sure you backup or sync all of your important data now, before the screen gets any worse.
 
Thanks all. Luckily I have insurance that will cover this. In fact, the handset was provided by them after I cracked the previous phone's screen. Maybe it's a refurb? Who knows!
