Email app Vs Gmail app

Samsung's email app is better than Gmail for me especially on the Note 8. When using the spen you can just hover over the emails without opening them to read the content. And Gmail still cannot select all to delete! I can't stand having to tap all 500 of my emails just to delete them..

After reading this thread I may give the stock email app a try. I used to always use Google Inbox but for the past few months been using the Gmail app because Google has been slacking at keeping Inbox up to date. Not even sure why they even have two. I believe at one point they were supposed to migrate over to Inbox but Ib don't believe this to be the case.

BlackBerry hub user over here. My favorite email client thus far. I've used Outlook as well which wasn't bad

I use the Blackberry Hub. I have tried the Samsung email app but when I open it up it seems to take some time to load. I don't know if it's because I have 4 emails and I set them to all load.

The other app I have tried is the Outlook for Android. Not bad at all.

Gmail, It's OK but do not like that I cannot turn conversation mode off even after I unchecked it.

I'm trying the hub. Do we have to pay for this?

Sorry I've tried the themes admittedly on my S7 edge but they don't seem to change the background color it's always that glaring white.. Please advise thanks
Actually there are several themes that change backgrounds to black or dark colors. I especially like the one named "Metalic Dark TouchWiz".

There is a paid option of $0.99/month after the 30 day trial ends. Or you can use it free after 30 days with ads. The ad is just one banner that appears at the top of your inbox when you open it. It can be swiped away easily. This is how I'm using it. I wish BlackBerry had a flat fee purchase price. It would be more reasonable than an ongoing monthly fee.

I do love the stock email app for its simplicity, look and conversation view handling. I use it for personal email. For my exchange I use Nine which has superior control and options.

I use the outlook app. It integrates nicely with one drive and office 365. attaching documents and photos are easy. I have become fond of the focus inbox

I have the exact same setup...stock for personal and Nine for business email.

I use the stock app. It has some fantastic features I've not seen on any other email app. A few I use frequently... Easy group email creation, save emails, manage time when emails sync (switches off sync outside of set hours). I love the last one which means my work email switches off sync evenings and weekends.

I like the stock email app. I like the layout and function, but max out on 200 blocked or unwanted or spam a adresses pretty quick. what program or method do you recommend to block unwanted email email or spam?

I've been trying out Inbox and after a bit of time getting used to it I quite like it. Pinning emails and snoozing them is especially useful so they don't get forgotten.

I've never been a fan of stock email going back to the S5. I'm also not a fan of the Gmail app either. I used CloudMagic for quite some time until they changed to Newton. Then onto TypeApp, which was identical to CM. Then I stumbled across Samsung's Focus app, which despite a few flaws, I still love and have been using for probably 6 months.

It's kind of an all-in-one digital day planner that functions more like Outlook desktop for Windows machines. Within 1 app I can view emails, contacts, calendar, notes, etc. Sammy still needs to smooth out some rough edges and add some additional features, but I'm hopeful that they'll stick with it as it could easily eliminate the need for several apps.

Gmail app for me is terrible. I've never liked it and I almost always use the stock app.

I bought the Nine mail app mainly because it allows me to use voice commands to unlock and control my device while maintaining full functionality of my work Outlook/Exchange accounts (and avoiding the server-specified security policies remote wipe!). Because I paid for it, I have added all of my personal email accounts to it as well. I also like that I have to use my fingerprint to open the app.

I have used the stock email app off and on, but I get so much junk mail that I've come to rely on Gmail's ability to sort and keep only relevant emails in my primary and updates tabs. Having all of it in my inbox with the stock app is just not manageable for me. I really want to use the stock app, but can't because of this.
