email auto syncing randomly

email not syncing unless i refresh most of the time ever since last update on the 16th. did a factory reset and still no change. Set to sync at 10 minute intervals and some times doesnt sync for hours. Any ideas??

This is usually an issue with connectivity. If it misses a sync it doesn't normally keep trying, it just waits for the next scheduled time to try again. And again, etc. How has your 3G/4G been acting?

What email client? Gmail or another account? What type of sync? Activesync? IMAP? POP? More info might help.

all email clients pop3 and gmail. doesnt matter if on wifi or 3g or 4g.

Email sync stopped working a while ago for me. I finally gave up and downloaded K9. It works and allows me to increase the font size.

Intermittent for me as well. Sometimes I have to r download mail when I open the application because its magically vanished.

I had pretty much the same problem on a Droid Charge, and it started right around that date as well. The main difference (other than the handset, of course) was mine was sent to PUSH. It would grab email maybe once or twice a day. What I ended up doing was removing and reinstalling each account. Since then, it has worked fine. I hope this helps.

I tried removing and reinstalling several times to no avail. I even did a factory reset with no change either.

Go to applications, click remove apps, go to gmail and just click clear data. Once done, power off, pull the battery for 30 seconds and power back up. You may have to rest your account but this worked for me.

I have had this issue since the last update too. I switched to K9 and all is well. I tried different roms and everything. Any rom on the new code base had the issue. You will not convince me this is not a bug in the code. On a lighter note K9 Is much better than the stock app. The only thing I am having trouble with is my one e-mail address needs to send to one address and receive from another. I was able to do this with stock mail and cannot seem to set it up this way with K9.

I hope HTC fixes this soon I use the phone for work every day.
