Email being marked as read

Using HTC email app I have 3 accounts set up. One is IMAP and I have found in the evening I will open up email for an email from another account and I will see several emails that look like they have been opened in the IMAP account. i.e they are not bold. I don't think this has happened during the day (Peak time setting). I do have my PC on and email up in another room, but they are unread on that machine.

Ideas?

I also notice that I am not getting an alert for those emails - at least i don;t think so. Last night i got two email like this before the end of peak time so i dont think it is related. Also this morning I had notification of several emails, went into the app and they were marked read until it updated, then they went unread.
