email ?/help

i have gmail and it works great,but i have my personal email that i just have set to forward to my gmail account my personal one is my main email support it is pop3 i guess my ? is it faster to have it forwarded to my gmail or just have that account on my phone and dont even use gmail at all. which way is faster to recieve them.
