Email Notification Off Switch

Besides the sd card issues that I still haven't resolved...the only other issue I'm having with the optimus s is the email notification system. I have my hotmail account linked up and have turned off the email notificaiton at least a dozen times through account settings and it keeps reverting back to giving me a notification. It's starting to get real annoying. Anyone else experience this issue?
