Emails not showing up on Gear

When I first got my Gear S3 Classic, all my emails were showing up on the watch (from my Pixel phone). All of a sudden they stopped and I can't get them to show up. Tried resets, no luck. Anyone have any experience with this or any ideas?

Are you connected to the watch either by Bluetooth or remotely?

Yes - Bluetooth.

It's the Classic. Bluetooth, no LTE.

Did you install the Android Wear app? I don't know why that helps, I only know that I didn't get emails until I installed it, and now I do.

Yes, I do have the Android Wear app installed.
